florence and tuscany

Hello all!
I am making my first trip to italy in may with another female friend of mine. Looking for recommendations as far as itineraires go. We would both love to see art in florence as well as see whatever the best sights are in tuscany. So many of the people i know who have traveled to italy say you must see tuscany! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance!
Heather

Heather, Go into Amazon.com and spend $10 on TOP 10 TUSCANY by Reid Bramlett and read that. You may have some questions then.

Do follow Bob the Navigator's advice. We bought the Top Ten Tuscany book and managed to tick off almost everything in it last October and November.

We also used the Michelin Green Guide for Tuscany for a little more information.

Try to follow the wine route (S222) in the Chianti section of Tuscany. It is wild and wonderful . . . what most people picture in their minds when Tuscany is mentioned. Do ask the hotel people where you stay. They know the area and usually have excellent suggestions for those little out of the way places you won't find in tourist books.

Have a great time.

Are you wanting to rent a car, or travel by train/bus? How long do you have?

I have a 20+ page Italy intinerary that I've e-mailed to more than 250 people on this board & the aol board. There is a heavy dose of Tuscany included. E-mail me at [email protected] if you want a free copy.

I also suggest You Crete Senesi and Val d'Orcia are, very nice for who loves taking wanderful pictures and also the Amiata Vulcano area that is unknown by tourists but really scenic. Ciao Luca

dear Ted
Divertiti
