Flatotel in Paris ...

I will be leaving soon for my second visit to Paris, and have booked a room in a Hotel called "All Suite Flatotel Eiffel Tower" (also called "Flatotel International" on some web-sites), since the Hotel I stayed in last time was fully booked. I chose this Hotel due to it's great location in the 15th arrondissement, and a view of the Eiffel Tower from our room.

However, I haven't read any reviews on this Hotel, and it is not even mentioned in any travel guide. I was wondering if any of you have had any experiences with this Hotel - any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks - Prashant.

We are thinking of booking there as well because location and price seem right (2 adults + 3 children - 8,6,5 )
Can anyone give some feedback? Thanks.

To see some photos go to http://www.smallandeleganthotels.com...otelPhotos.htm
On this site the place looks OK, if somewhat functional. I'd be interested to hear what Prashant thought of the place...

I rented an apartment once not too far from there, so I know the neighborhood a little. Rue du Theatre isn't exactly a charming street, but it's a safe enough area and fairly convenient to things. It's a residential area mainly, but not fancy -- that can be good as you'll find things cheaper there. I stayed closer to the Charles Michels metro so know there are lots of nice little food shops over there where I could get stuff for dinner if I wanted after I came home from what I was doing that day, and some decent bistros and cafes. There are some on ave Emile Zola also, which runs from there and crosses rue du Theatre--it's a wider street with trees and some good restaurants. The little park Square Volet just west of the Felix Faure metro stop (shortly south of that Flatotel) is just lovely and tranquil, and lots of families and nannies with kids spend time in that park. I was there once when a group of classical musicians (strings and maybe some horns) where giving a small free outdoor concert there on a Sunday afternoon or something. There's a good Vietnamese restaurant right on rue du Theatre if I'm remembering right. It won't have a great view of the Eiffel Tower, but if you peek down the street at the right angle or something, you may see part of it (I will bet the promo material for that room is just a wee bit overstated on the view).

It's a large modern chain suite "apartment-hotel" type place, all of those tend to be that way. Functional may be the way to describe it, but it may be fine for a good price and the convenience if you want those type of facilities with kids.

Well, we went and stayed for 3 nights: 183 Euro/night for a 40 m2 suite with kitchen.
Neighborhood and location are fine, exactly as Christina described.
Room size was O.K., everyone slept well, and we could indeed see the Eiffel tower from our 21st floor window.
But...
We had reserved a larger room: it was not available on arrival. We didn't get the extra child bed until the second night. The kitchen utensils were inadequate and in sorry shape. The toilet seat came off. The elevators broke down constantly. Once we had to walk down the 21 floors, which the kids actually enjoyed..
Bottom line: the place is ill maintained and none of the staff (or the owners themselves) seem to care.
Because we would have wasted too much time looking for alternatives and since they charge your credit card up front (and make you sign a clause that an early departure will not entitle you to credit), we put up with it. But not again, that's for sure.

Yikes! that sounds pretty bad for that price. It's good that you posted a followup for others to search in the future. It sounds like folks who want this kind of setup should stick with the more well-known names of Citadines, Orion (or even Plazza Bastille).

Hi We stayed there ages ago, I think that probably it is better to look for
Citadines, they are better located.THe one in St Germain seems great facing the Seine and probably is about the same rate.
