First series euro bills (currency)

Quick relatively minor question: we will be in France in late April/May but still have a number of older 20 and 50 euro bank notes leftover from a few years ago before the new editions came out. Are these readily still accepted my merchants, ticket vending machines, etc.? (I know I can walk into a bank and exchange them at face value for the new edition) When we hit the ground jet lagged and running upon arrival, I am hoping to avoid having the additional burden of trying to find a place to exchange them.
Merci beaucoup !

No euro notes have been cancelled, same as dollars.
