I had already posted this:
http://www.fodors.com/community/euro...no-airport.cfm
It was based on the 1 PM Rai news on Italian TV. Since then, flights have begun to take off, earlier than expected. The first departure was a 13:15 and since then international flights, including one to Detroit have taken off.
Terminals 1, 2, and 5 are now open, and check in for Terminal 3 is taking place in Terminal 1, according the latest reports I've seen, from about 4 PM. According to La Stampa, an Italian newspaper, arriving flights are less affected, with no current cancellations. Delays of up to three hours are to be expected for departing flights. Allow plenty of extra time for check-in, as queues are very long; Terminal 3 was one of the busiest terminals, handling all extra-EU flights except flights to the US on US carriers.
The official site of the airports of Rome has the latest information, but it's being overwhelmed with requests, so it loads a little slowly. At the moment it has nothing new beyond what I've written above, but it does have details about cancellations and delays.

I see that a flight for Zagreb, which would normally depart from Terminal 3, is instead scheduled to take off from Terminal 5.

The search function here isn't very useful.
The evening news said that some departures were still being canceled and that they expected that several days would be needed to get things back to normal. Arriving flights are landing regularly, although they may have been delayed at the point of departure, and many flights early in the day were canceled.
It seemed that the problem was greatest for domestic flights, even though the fire was not in the domestic terminal. Maybe it's because there are more domestic than international flights, so the closing of the airport for seven hours had a greater impact on them. Or maybe that's just where all the Italian reporters went to get interviews.

Arrived at Terminal 3 yesterday and actually went through immigration and baggage area in record time- very orderly too!
Only difference was a number of employees were wearing face masks presumably to protect from smoke residue- however I could not smell any smoke.
Departures might be another story though- but that's 5 weeks away for me.
I spoke to a couple departing Rome today who were advised to arrive at airport even earlier than usual for their departure to the UK because of changes in operational procedures because of the fire.
