Hi Elaine, sorry, OWJ is our Fodor poster One Wandering Jew. We became friends thanks to Fodor's. We started emailing each other and then phoning each other. She is a teacher (special ed) in Atlanta. She and her husband invited me to come to Atlanta which I did. We had a fabulous time. And then OWJ drove she and I to Charleston. I had never been to either city before (except for the ATL airport). It was truly the most beautiful week. Very special. And on the phone (also emails) OWJ knew about the dietary restrictions I had. And she and her husband were precious when we were in restaurants making sure I did not order or eat anything I couldn't.
And Elaine you are absolutely correct. Avoiding corn products is a problem. But since I have had this condition for twenty years (guess I inherited it from my paternal grandfather who had it also) I have gotten use to it.
One thing I found out is that CocaCola does make coke with sugar instead of corn. But unfortunatly it is not avaiable in N CA. Oh sigh! But during Passover (although I am not Jewish) I can buy a lot of products without corn. So I stock up.
I do smile to myself with picky eaters (sure have some in my family) as I like everything. Wish everything liked me, LOL. Take care.
