FCO airport shuttle to hotel
I apologize for <i>another</i> thread about transfer from FCO to Rome hotel. I've found many posts about this, but am still a little confused.
We are seeking a shuttle service (for 2) which will drop us at Hotel San Carlo, near Sp Steps. We don't mind other stops prior to our drop-off. From other threads I've found two sites:
www.airportshuttle.it
and
www.airportconnection.it
Airport Shuttle quotes 32€, 8-person mini bus, "FCO to Rome city center". It then says, <i>"From Fiumicino airport to Rome downtown add € 11,00"</i>.
What does this mean?
Airport Connection quotes 30€ for 2 persons, baggage included.
Can anyone point to a preference for one company or the other? Do we have to transfer between terminals to get the shuttle or do they stop at all terminals? Thanks.

The Airport Shuttle is definitely confusing. I e-mailed them and learned that it is 37E plus 11E, at least to my apt in Campo dei Fiori. I wound up deciding on limoservicerome.com because of Fodorites' experience and my friend's experience.
You can e-mail each of the sites to get an exact quote.

We (2 people) used Airport Connection last May and had no problem with the service. The driver waited outside the baggage claim area (while holding a sign with my last name) and we ended up being his only passengers. He took us from FCO to the Trevi Fountain area for the price of 25-30 euro for two people (can't remember if the rate was slightly cheaper last year). The only minor problem was that he barely spoke any English and our Italian was very very limited. But who needs to chat it up with your shuttle driver anyways?

Your hotel is just off the via del Corso, in that stretch where there is no motor traffic except those cunning electric buses and maybe taxis. Not sure what this portends for your shuttle-bus.
An alternative to the perfectly valid suggestions above is to take the 10 euro p.p. express train from FCO to the stazione termini, then a cab.
