Favorite Wales websites

For our trip to Scotland, we got a lot of information from the Undiscovered Scotland website. Is there anything similar for Wales, and what are your favorite websites for planning trips to Wales?

It's not a website, but have you read Sharon Kay Penman's historical novels? They provide a very entertaining insight into Scottish history.

Unfortunately there is no similar website for Wales. I found one of the more helpful sources to be Trip Advisor. You'll need to go to the forum for the area you're interested, but locals can answer most of your questions.

Are you looking for accommendation or general tourist information?

I should clarify my comment re: Trip Advisor;it should be the discussion forum.

CADW is the state-run organization for Welsh Historic Monuments and their website is useful. It's www.cadw.wales.gov.uk

Also The National Trust www.nationaltrust.org.uk

Try www.castlewales.com/home.html

I didn't find the visit Wales website vey helpful but you can try. www.visitwales.com

The visitwales.org ended up being very helpful for us, it's where we found our privately escorted tour guide, Dragon Tours. I was able to plan the exact personalized vacation I wanted through the site's links for tours. Don't think I would have found the great guide otherwise w/o the site's endorsement.

Oops, I'm sorry... it's visitwales.com (as mentioned first above) and then it connects to www.travelwales.org for US visitors.
