Favorite tapas bars in Barcelona

Could you please tell me your favorite areas for tapas in Barcelona? It has been a while and I don't remember names of bars or locations. I remember a place called El Rincon del Cava, but don't now where it is. Also a one called Maitea. Any suggestions. We want to have an evening of tapa hopping within the same area. Thank you in advance.

Go for tapas with the locals in Poble Sec: http://www.barcelonaturisme.com/wv3/...ml?categoria=2

Or I can highly recommend this route in El Born:

Xampanyet, Tapeo and Euskal Etxea are very diferent high quality places within 50 meters in the narrow Carrer Montcada, once the most important street in the city.
Xampanyet: http://www.timeout.com/barcelona/res...s/el-xampanyet
Tapeo: http://www.tapeoborn.cat/tapeo-del-born.html
Euskal Etxea (Basque): http://www.euskaletxeataberna.com/en...n-euskaletxea/

See if you can squeeze in at the bar in fabulous Cal Pep 100 meters down the street, usually a long wait, expensive and worth every penny. On the S.Pelegrino world's 100 best restaurant list a few years ago: http://calpep.com/Ingles/index_ing.html

Perhaps some more pintxos (Basque) in Txakolin, also in the same area: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restauran...Catalonia.html

I use to end the night in this area in no fuss Navia, an almost 24/t cafeteria/bar that is very popular with locals, people often come in large groups for dinner after midnight, they also serve tapas and an excellent house Soup and/or stew that only gets better and better into the night. https://www.tripadvisor.ca/Restauran...Catalonia.html

... and if you've been to Rincon del Cava, you've already been in Poble Sec with all the tapas bars, cafes, terraces and restaurants. Quimet y Quimet is perhaps the most famous tapas bar in the area, but there are many to choose from around here:

And you liked Maitea, a Basque place. Then you should enjoy both Euskal Etxea and Txakolin in El Born (which I mention above). Many quite poor Basque/pintxos places in Barcelona, but Euskal Etxea (part of the Basque Cultural Center) and Txakolin are two of the best and give you an idea why the Basque kitchen is considered the finest in Spain. Remember to also try the freshly prepared hot pintxos in both places. http://www.euskoguide.com/food-drink...untry/pintxos/

I have been to Cal Pep a few times. It is easy to miss as it has a nondescript exterior and try to be there when it opens.

The Plaça del Pi has a choice of tapas bars.

One of the best meals of our 10 day trip to Madrid and Barcelona was at the TAPEO DEL BORN http://www.tapeoborn.cat/tapeo-del-born.html. Still dreaming about the food and cava sangria
Very atmospheric and reasonably priced restaurant was Bodega La Tinaja. The dish that was the highlight (and now a staple at my house ....pan con tomato. It was the best!
These two places are about 5min walk from each other in the Gothic Quarters.
Enjoy!

Another enthusiastic thumbs-up for Tapeo (thanks again, kimhe!). I was less pleased with Cerveceria Catalana -- it was OK, not great IMO (no blame to Maitaitomi -- I picked it without his input).
