I appreciate being thanked for good advice after someone has taken one of my recommendations, and then returned to this forum and said that they were pleased with the recommendation.

I like to read the questions that Rex answers because I find what he has to say interesting and that I find so many Rex bashers love to drag him in the mud but I always enjoy his comments!

Reading posts through the eyes of one who has not traveled the path that they are about to embark on. Isn't it great when you have a forum to try and guide them to what you feel is the best path to take and to listen to what one person loves to the next who disdains it as much.

If I have two or more clues about travel would it be technically correct to say that I do not have a clue about travel?

Sort of like the French student who asked me, "If Americans say either 1) I ran up a bill at the hotel or 2)I ran a bill up at the hotel why can you say 1)I ran up a hill but you CAN'T say 2) I ran a hill up?

That reminds me of one of the Star Trek movies, the one that had Russians and Americans working together in space. At one point a Russian, who was trying to grasp American idioms, said "that's a piece of pie" and an American corrected him, "No, that's 'a piece of cake'." Later, the same Russian, thinking he now had it down, said "that's as easy as cake" and the American corrected him, "No, that's 'as easy as pie'."

I like the constant "what does ttt mean?" because I remember when I didn't know and felt like it was some secret fodors insider code.

Questions like "where is the best city in the world?" because there are great responses and then people who hate those type of questions and have to share their opinions about how horrible a question it was throughout the thread. Makes me laugh.

Any question that involves Rex or Rick Steves in it. I think both are great but it is like a buzzer goes off for some people and have to launch into some tirade about how they are trying to take over the world.

Questions that you think might be really dumb when you ask them but then you get GREAT advice and minimal negative posts.

When people ask "What to wear" for Europe. Drives me up a wall. If you have good fashion sense in the US then you will have good fashion sense in Europe and vice versa. Whether you shop at Prada, Banana Republic or Walmart that is how you dress.

Anything that gets the readers fired up!! Love to see Rick Steves get bashed as well as the others. Rick Steves in Europe is not received well at all which I was a little suprised. I am a supporter of Rex though!!

I love the question.Because this forum allows one to ask anything relevant to something and usually one will respond.
