By the way, at one end of the Tuileries garden (on your left when entering it from the "place de la Concorde"), there's a shop owned by some public organism which sell books, maps, and other things related to public parks and gardens...

Parc Georges-Brassens. I love the fragrance garden - and the used book fair, which is there once a week I believe, is a big wallet drainer.

Parc Monceau is perfect. I found it when getting off a metro right in front of it while going to visit a street that had been recommended. It's very pretty, small, great people watching. Also, do visit the Nissam Camondo museum - a real gem. The Trocadero Gardens are also great people watching and the fountains are entertaining.

Selecting just one favorite is difficult, because I love the diversity of the parks and gardens in Paris. The Luxembourg remains an all-time favorite, but I have others as well. They include the Promenade Plantée, a great place to stroll above the fumes of ground-level Paris, the Parc Monceau, Parc Montsouris, and one I recently visited for the first time - the Parc André Citroën.
