Returning to London in April. Looking for ideas of tours, restaurants, teas, "experiences" during a "slow travel"/ non-hectic week in the city.

At the top of my list = visiting the Royal Mews.

So obviously, not the typical tourist list of "must sees" but other ideas that may not fall in the Top 10 things to do in London.

I would second the rare book room, it was a very special visit.

The Temple Church, in the City of London.

If there's a particular author or other famous person that you admire who had any contact with London, visit sites associated with that person.

Bletchley Park is on my to-do list someday, as is the Highgate Cemetary

Greenwich Observatory, Naval college, Queens House and Park with great cafe.

My favorite London activity is to walk and sit and people watch on the South Bank promenade.

The Postal Museum and Mail Rail is quite a fun visit

1. The Charles I exhibition at the Royal Academy is high on my list, if it's still on when you are there.
2. Afternoon tea at the Wallace Collection is always a good idea; for the museum and the tea.
3. Catch a movie at the Electric Cinema, Portobello Road

Camden Market is quite something, Borough Market and a walk in the City.

For a limited time the Painted Hall in Greenwich is giving tours of the famous ceiling - well worth the visit

Browse London Walks' offers for lots of specific walks in areas you may not have visited (I especially liked our Chelsea walk)

Find Wren churches' ruins like St. Dunstan in the East and Christ Church Grey Friars (and Postman's Park is near Christ Church)

It's been a while since I've been to London, but I remember particularly enjoying Evensong at St. Paul's and a classical concert at Saint-Martin-in-the-Fields.
