Croatia - cevapi, freshest grilled fish with a side of swiss chard and potatoes, calamari, Ston oysters, prsut, Posip from Korcula, pastries, burek

Italy - Rome- artichokes, the best pizza in the world, porcini, grilled lamb, antipasti, pasta, grilled percorino, cappuccino, lemoncello

France -- escargot, duck, roti chicken/potatoes, baguette, pain au chocolate, cafe creme, croissant, croques, CHEESE

I haven't had dinner yet. This is cruel.

Belgium - mussels, chocolate.
France - almond croissants, cheese, couscous.
Tuscany - pasta with cheese and honey, Caprese salad.
Greece - calamari, yogurt with honey, moussaka.
England - scones with clotted cream, curries.
Germany - spaetzel and weinerschnitel.
Switzerland - fondue, chocolate.

I agree with all of you guys and what wonderful memories. But the post that made me laugh with fond memories was lovtotravel with the scones. We enjoyed a delicious cream tea in Selworthy,Devon(please correct me if that is not right)many years ago. My husband who can eat anything and lots of it,looked at me and said quite seriously" I am very full,I dont think I can eat anything for a few hours"! He had polished off most of the clotted cream tea. Needless to say..He ate dinner!And a few English bitters.

suze, that's les salés (= salty ones), those finger food to go with apéritif drinks. Often mentioned as sucré - salé (sweet ones and salty ones) or Apéro.
