Fancy/Sporty Car Rental in Ireland?
I was just wondering if anyone knows of a car rental company in Ireland that rents fancy/sporty cars. I would love to sample some of the nicer European cars that we don't get here in the States. Renault Clio V6, Mondeo ST220, Cosworth, classic cars...? Any help would be great!

Brian
Sorry, don't know the answer but have you ever driven in Ireland? The roads are exceptionally narrow and curvy. I doubt there would be anywhere you could enjoy such a car. You for sure could not open it up. Our poor little car had dents on both sides , back, cracked windshield and flat tire (from the rim being pushed in)over our 7 day rental.

cd is right. Most of the roads are extremely narrow; e.g., a 1-lane road with a line down the middle becomes a 2-lane road. No shoulders. Lots of blind hilly curves. And you'll be driving on the left which takes a bit of getting used to. Better you should get a simple car like a Corolla and enjoy the scenery which is incredible.

We had a Corolla and I beat it up big time. If it is only two of you, (even four), get the smallest car you can get to feel somewhat comfortable in. I think that I am a pretty good driver yet I did $700.00 damage, (broken windshield by a flying stone) to that loyal little Corolla. Go fancy if you want but, in Ireland, fancy will cost you.

Interesting...My wife and I were in Ireland last year and I had no trouble driving. The small roads made the trip a lot of fun! (We had a Hyundai Accent 5-door.) An AWD 911 would be a hoot on those roads just for one day!

We'll be there with a bigger group this time. Probably splitting the cost of two Renault Laguna or Ford Mondeo estates.
