Family travelling in April has anyone used "European Destinations"
Has anyone used European Destinations for booking a trip. I did up an itinerary and it came back with really great options at a reasonable price. Just want to know the good and bad stories. We are leaving from Canada.
Also if we are in these countries what are our "must sees" boys 16 and 11.
Where thinking Paris, Venice and not sure which city in Germany yet. Malta we have relatives in Zabbar.

No, I haven't used European Destinations. We travel independently. Make our own reservations etc.
The castles in Bavaria are great- if you like castles. We liked going to Berchtesgaden, Germany to see the salt mines. That was a great tour. I could see boys liking that. It is close to Salzburg and could be a day trip.

Hardly anyone on this board uses a service to plan trips for them. That's why you're not getting many replies. We are all (quite rightly) convinced we can plan our own trips more inexpensively than anyone else can - with each other's help, of course.

StCirq just thought I would check as it seemed the best of both worlds. They book the big stuff and was a reasonable amount. We can still plan most of our own inbetween day trips etc. this is our first time and we're having a bit of anxiety about how overwhelming it all is even with help from others. On my other post there were several people that used tour companies.
I will check out the Germany website and yes the boys would love those tours.

Yes, we used them two years ago for the very same reasons you mention. For once they could do the specifics we wanted cheaper than I could find on my own (travel was for Jul-Aug).
We were very pleased with the 3-star hotel offered in Paris, Hotel Londres et New York that included breakfast in the price. Though we usually don't stay in the Gare St. Lazare area, the location was perfect for using the bus/metro to get around and we found good eating options and enjoyed the bustling tempo of the area.
Car rental, picked up at the Gare de Lyon & brokered through them, went without a hitch from their end but that's the second time we've ended up with that particular company at the Gare de Lyon and they are very unorganized/long wait/unhappy customers, so I personally would choose a different location in Paris to pick up my car from nextt time.
Would I use them again? Yes, if the savings was worth it--just because we're "do-it-yourselfers" doesn't mean we don't consider all options, even package deals. We didn't feel they had misrepresented anything to us. The only caveat: I thought they were up for sale last year, so I don't know if it's under new management or not, for what it's worth.
Happy travels!

Any one else with info on this company? I just booked a trip to Paris & Amsterdam air & hotel that with Thalys inbetween that fit our needs for a get-away in May. On the phone and via e-mail everything seems pretty solid - but BBB has 4 unanswered complaints so they aren't in good standing there. The price is totally in line with what we'd pay if we did it ourselves, and the hotels are places we would have picked as well.
We did put it on a credit card which should give us some protection.
