Family (of 5) Rooms In Rome

At the suggestion of another member, I am posting another message.

If anyone has recommendations for hotels (even nice hostels) that will allow 5 in a room, please advise. Two adults and three children, 11 year old twins and a 14 year old (she will be 15 when we travel). Thanks so much!!!

I mentioned convent lodging on the other thread, and the Hotel Panda.

The Beehive Hostel is said to be a very nice hostel. It also offers apartments and apartment shares. I think I'd just send them an open-ended query asking if they have any accommodation options for your family.

We are a family of 6 going to Rome in April and we have to get 2 rooms at all our hotels. HOWEVER, in Rome we are staying at the Residenza Canali and one of our rooms is their superior suite. The suite consists of 2 rooms - one with a king bed and the other with 2 twins. They may be able to put another bed in the suite to accomodate all 5 of you. This property has gotten fantastic reviews on Tripadvisor.com and is right off the Piazza Novana, thus our decision to stay there. http://www.residenzacanali.com

You might try the Hotel Alimandi located right by the Vatican Museum. They have Quad rooms and might be able to add a cot.

Our family of five stayed in this apartment near the Trevi fountain. http://www.ladolcevita1.com/trevipanetteria.html

We found it a lovely location, and appreciated having the extra room of an apartment, and the ability to cook if we felt like it. The apartment also had a washing machine (but no dryer). If you are going in summer, they had fans but no air-conditioning.

In July of 2003, our family of 5 (kids were 14, 12 and 9) stayed at a wonderful hotel called Hotel Santa Chiara. We had an apartment on the top floor with 2 bedrooms, bathroom and large rooftop terrace. It's around the corner from the Pantheon and is just perfect. We heard about it from this site; you may want to do a search.

The hotel des artistes has a room for 6. it is pretty spartan though. 6 cots lined up along the wall.

You may also want to try the Hotel San Carlo. They have quite a few doubles, as well as some triples and at least one quad. I find their rates very reasonable.
