Mmmm. I didn't interpet Rick Steves' review in France 2005 as lukewarm, although now that I've read it again, I think I'll send a fax asking for a quiet room in the back. Air conditioning, which can be hard to find in a budget accomodation, is an important feature for us since we'll be there at the end of June, but I imagine that is not a concern if you are traveling in April.

To: Barbara. You're right. I looked over Rick's recommendation, and it seems OK. Unfortunately, I haven't heard back from the folks at LeBlason. I had looked at Le Chat Courant and Giraudiere, but they're booked for my dates in April. Moulin Francueil has given me a quote of 116 euros per night, including breakfast. Le Fleuray is 94 euros per night, but no breakfast. Chateau de Pintray is 133 euros, including breakfast, and the Relais Chenonceaux is 90 euros per night, but no breakfast. All 4 of these look like they wouldn't be too far from the major chateaus. Does anyone have any personal experience with any one of these?? Please advise, and PS, thank you for all the wonderful responses.
