Evergreen Laurel Hotel in Paris--Anyone Know It?

Hello! My husband will be attending a conference at the Evergreen Laurel Hotel in Paris for a couple of days. Location is Place Georges Pompidou, Levallois. I don't really know where that is, and haven't been able to get a good idea from the website.

We will be going to Paris for a long week-end before hand, and are trying to decide whether to do the whole stint at this hotel, or to start off at our usual hotel in the 1st, Hotel Royal St. Honore. Then we'd move to the Evergreen Laurel for his conference.

Here are my questions:

1) Where is the hotel located? At what Metro stop? How far out by Metro from Arc de Triomphe, for example? What is in the immediate area?

2) What is the hotel like? From the website, it looks like what my mother would call "serviceable". Ok for a conference, and not very exciting for romantic vacation days. Anyone know more specific info.?

Thanks so much for any information you can provide!

When I look at the map, it seems like it's outside Paris proper.

I'd suggest using the route planner at http://www.ratp.fr to get some ideas about how long it would take to get to various places from that hotel. That will also tell you what the nearest mass transit point is.

Hi Lisa-

Using mappy.com and your hotel's address, it's closest Metro station is about 150m away and is Pont de Levallois-Becon. That is the last stop on Line 3. So, I'd say it's quite far out from center of Paris.

It's outside the peripherique across the Seine, not near the center of town. The nearest Metro I could find is the Pont de Levallois-Becon stop.

If you go to http://photos.pagesjaunes.fr and type in Place Georges Pompidou and then in the Ville box beside the address, pull down to Levallois and you will see a picture of a hotel . . . perhaps yours, but I couldn't read the name of the hotel.

Most conventions are out of the center of town so you might be happier staying at a hotel in the city center and then moving to the conference hotel.

Good luck.

Thanks all for the great information. I agree with all of you, and we will be staying in the 1st until the conference starts.

I really appreciate the referrals to sites for maps and such. I'll keep that info. on hand.
