They're now saying they've developed a fix, tested it this morning and hope to be running some scheduled trains from tomorrow (Tues).

Apparently it was due to a wrong kind of snow in Northern France!

Or: the wrong kind of engineering by the French company that built the train.

Either way: it's all the fault of those damn grenouilles again

Before they can move anyone new, they've got to shift those that are stranded.

Don't expect "normal" service this side of Christmas.

ps I thought it was the wrong sort of air?

Yup trains will roll tomorrow, NPR reports

Yup why after 20 years running or so is this weather snafu happening for the first time - at least to such an extent. Is it Maggie Thatcher's fault?

What is with the Brits and the Frogs? They get a couple of inches of snow and everything falls apart. Pathetic.

"They get a couple of inches of snow and everything falls apart. Pathetic." - you clearly don't live in the southern US - same thing here!

That is because you are soft. Growing up in cold climates builds character.

What makes you think I (not to mention a lot of other people) grew up where I live?

"Is it Maggie Thatcher's fault?"

Amazing, isn't it?

French-designed and built trains, operated by a company mostly owned by the French state, break down in France at a time France is showing its complete inability to deal with a couple of inches of snow.

And it's all the fault of Maggie.

Whose other faults, though certainly many, certainly don't include excessive affection for our garlic-fragrant neighbours. And who might have single-handedly overthrown the intergalactic commie menance: but failed completely to wean the onion-sellers off their affection for State handouts

Shows the power of the woman.

Seattle is the worst for dealing with snow. They literally park on the freeway when it snows.

It would be one thing if it never snowed there, but it happens at least once or twice a year.

I worked for a bank that paid bonuses for anyone who showed up to work on a snow day.

They're now moving people and have a target of getting everyone where they want to go by Christmas. That will NOT include anyone who has not already bought a ticket.
