Yes there is checked luggage on Eurostar trains and costs 12 pounds (2005) - bicycles are accommodated at 20 pounds. To check on whether this is still the case - my info is from 2005 and assume still correct, either call BETS if in US (800-441-2387) - they are Eurostar booking experts and will definitively know the answer or call Waterloo International Eurostar station in London: 08705 850 850 - don't dial first 0 if calling from abroad - dial it if calling from UK. Check it as early as possible as it may not go on the same train you do - at Euro-despatch centre lower road, off Waterloo Road at Waterloo station. Opening hours: 6:30-22:00 Mon-Fri - not clear if it's open Sat or Sun - seems like it should be but info i'm quoting says for Sat (18:30-21:00 to reclaim bags only) - so check to see when you can pick up in Paris - may not be possible on weekends it seems - i'm not sure - call the number. Paris Gare du Nord phone: 0 1 55 31 54 54 - again don't dial first 0 from outside France. Maximum extra 3 bags can be checked - allowed to carry on 2 pieces plus i hand luggage but i haven't seen this enforced in my many Eurostar journeys.
sheet i'm quoting says "registered baggage not guaranteed to be carried on same train but will arrive within 24 hours. Can be registered up to 10 days before travel or on day of travel. Items are available for collection at destination station for up to 24 hours. (Apparently you could register then 10 days in advance and have them waiting for you in Paris at no extra charge - good if wanting to store them in London where you'd have to pay 5or 6 pounds a day per bag.)
