Europebyair.com - Is this a Great Fare?
Hi everyone,

I've been checking out all of the low cost carriers for my trip in July, and was wondering if I could get a better deal in your opinion...

I'll be flying on July 16th from London Gatwick to Madrid
July 20th MAD- Barcelona
July 26th BCN-LGW

The total cost for this itenerary is $205.38 through europebyair.com and the departure/arrival times I have been given are great (nothing to early or too late)and all flights are non-stop. Not to mention that I'll be originating and terminating out of Gatwick instead of Luton or Stansted...
Also they are e-tickets.

Would you say I should go for it and book (I think I should...) or keep looking?

Thank you!

Julie,
You've done the homework so you know better how good this is. Sounds good to me. Are you happy with the airlines or don't you know which they're using? Easy Jet appears to fly LGW/MAD & BCN/LGW but not MAD/BCN. I think someone has recently posted there are good intra Europe fares from Iberia. Have you checked these airlines to see if you can do better?

Julie,
I'd just add that in my experience with Europebyair, I needed to pay the additional VAT tax at each airline's customer service desk at the airport before being given my tickets and proceeding to the check-in counter. The total bill sounds very reasonable, but I'd check the MAD/BCN fare at www.iberia.com, www.aireuropa.com
and www.spanair.com Iberia plus its low cost competitors, AirEuropa and Spanair often keep that MAD/BCN shuttle portion well under 99 euros.

mclaurie - I should have posted that in my fisrt message - The airlines are Iberia and British Airways, or Air Europa and Iberia.
I checked out Iberia, Spanair and a couple of other carriers and it does seem as though I'm gettting a good price - I think that europebyair must sell off seats for the airlines for cheaper than the airlines do themselves...
Thanks for the heads up on those other airlines!

Maribel - after reading your post I looked through the fine print on europebyair and it seems that all taxes are included except if there is one of those airport improvement taxes, and those have to be paid at the counter.
Before I confirm my tickets I'm going to check out these other airlines again and make sure I'm not passing up a good deal!
