I always try to use a country's own site when possible, as that is their train. They seem to always have international trains as long as it originates in their country and is their train. But these are country-specific train companies, and French rail wouldn't have any reason to have Czech trains on their schedul nor try to keep those up. It would be a nightmare, I'd think, don't you?

I think I've seen some folks on here say there is a German website that has a lot of trains in other countries, though. I don't know, I've used the www.bahn.de website and it lists schedules sometimes, but won't give prices for some major French routes I tried.

Hi Pal,

The Europena rail system has been rather well integrated. You can get international rates from domestic rail sites (usually).

For example, if you want to go from Paris to Venice you can get the fare and book tickets from both www.trenitalia.com and http://www.voyages-sncf.com.

thanks ira:
I still wonder if there is a site with all international fares on it - like on the bahn.de site they give nearly no int'l fares - it'd be nice just to have one site with fares all over Europe and not RailEurope or railsaver.com which are good but list fares in dollars that often don't reflect the real fare you'd pay in Europe. But thanks for taking time to respond.
