Europe gateway airports

Are there any U.S. airports that consistently have lower airfares to Europe than others? I usually fly nonstop from Phoenix, but Southwest is flooding my e-mail with smokin' deals to east coast cities that could make me a few hundred bucks if the connections fall into place.

NYC-area airports tend to have the lowest fares to Europe.

Aye, that's the rub.

SW don't fly to many gateway airports. No JFK/EWR/IAD/ORD/IAH/ATL/DFW/BOS, etc... unless you count the ATA codeshares. BWI has a few European flights, and PHL has a bunch from US Airways plus selected European airlines.

Best bet is probably BWI or PHL. BWI has only a few flights to Europe, PHL more choices.
But watch what Ira says. There is no interline agreement with SW. You'll have to allow for enough time between your SW flight and your next flight (remember international check-in is 2 hours prior to boarding) for retrieving any checked luggage before heading onto the next flight. And you'll have to check in again to get your next boarding pass. Most international flights will not allow you to check in online because of passport requirements.
If you miss your flight, you will have to buy a new ticket - no help from the airline since it will be considered you're fault even if weather delays your initial SW flight.

Yeah, good point about the weather...the rest I could deal with (for the right price).
