EURAIL question
Hello,
I am planning on taking my 2 kids to Europe this summer.
I want to take 2 train rides:
1 overnight on OBB from Rome to Munich
1 day train from Munich to Paris
If I purchase a 2-country pass on Eurail, will that allow me to take the overnight train from Rome to Munich? I assume there will be extra charges for the overnight train (like reserving a family compartment for the overnight ride). If so, if I buy the Eurail, when would I be able to pay those extra fees?

Thanks for the replies.
Sounds like buying individual tickets is the way to go.
For Rome to Munich, I was looking at the Nighjet run by OBB and purchase through https://tickets.oebb.at
For the Munich to Paris trip, I was looking at DB through https://reiseauskunft.bahn.de
Are those both good sources?

Agree with all of the above - absolutely no pass is good for you but book yourselves online - www.seat61.com is the authority on just how to do that and nab discounted fares to boot. Walk-up fares much much much higher. Book ASAP for both trains. General info trains like what to expect on overnight trains, etc. also www.ricksteves.com and BETS-European Rail Experts. Bring ear plugs if a modicum of noise bothers you as there is always some from inside and outside the train.
How many people do you have - 3 or 4? Get a private compartment, either a triple or quad and be sure not to be put in 4- or 6-person couchette compartments as you will have srangers in with you. skbohler has the two sites you should book on - Austrian for night train and German bahn.de/en for Munich-Paris.

Yes that's OK. You may also check OeBB's nightjet website: https://www.nightjet.com/en/
For the direct Munich dp 6.23 - Paris TGV, you may compare fares with https://ch.oui.sncf/fr/

>>Do they check tickets against passport age or is on the honor system?<<
Don't cheat. Sometimes they do test and sometimes they don't - - but it would be really embarrassing to get caught. On some websites they actually ask for the birthdates to book child tix.
