Essential Europe in March
Never been before. Money belt or pouch around neck under blouse? Where do I buy one I don't have to take off at airport Security?
March in Rome, Florence, Venice, Paris & London. Carry on bag. I will layer, but do I need a jacket/coat/poncho? I don't want to be incumbered, but I don't like to be cold, either. In all the history books and movies, I've only seen the ancient Romans in togas, never coats.

I used a neck pouch which I tied around my bra and strapped it down and tucked it into my pants in the front instead of wearing it around my neck. I bought mine at a luggage store but at airport security i just stored it in my purse. I would layer and you will need a jacket for Paris and London in March. If you can afford to buy a cashmere sweater to wear for warmth and style and then a warmish coat ( remember your gloves and a hat for Paris and London) especially if you are from a warm climate

We have been to all those places in March and you will definitely want a coat for London & Paris. Atleast last March it was quite cold, and a bit windy. Even my husband ended up buying a scarf to keep warm.
I use the Eagle Creek hidden pocket. (http://www.eaglecreek.com/accessorie...-Pocket-40024/). You just loop it through your belt. You do not need to remove it for security unless you had to remove your belt due to a large belt bucklet.

I never thought about gloves and hat! Thanks. So, it looks like a coat is going! So, I'm taking a carry-on bag, purse and coat. Do I just shove the coat in the overhead on the plane with my luggage? 12 day trip. What to take in clothes?

Clothes are really a matter of choice. I took black pants and a pair of jeans and some tops. I know there have been many threads on what to take but take the clothes that you're comfortable in and yet look stylish. Take a scarf that you can wear for style and warmth and if you want to see what others wore in europe check out the travel pics on flickr.com ( that's what I did) and don't fret because if you forget something you can always buy yourself something new.
