Epernay Region: Chateau d'Etoges or Villa Eugene

My husband & I will be in the Champagne region in early December for 3 nights. After doing some research and requesting availability, I found 2 hotels that both look interesting - Villa Eugene on the Avenue of Champagne in Epernay and Le Chateau d'Etoges (approx. 20 minutes south of Epernay). We will have a car and definitely want to visit Reims during our stay.

Any personal recommendations of either of these hotels? Would you prefer one over the other? Appreciate a Fodorite's advice, thanks!

We have reservations for Villa Eugene end of October. Highly rated on Trip Adviser. All emails with them have been prompt and professional.

Please post a trip report about Villa Eugene when you get back and all the wonderful Champagne houses! There is a website that lists links to all the Champagne vineyards: www.champagnemagic.hom/houses.htm

scubapuppies, Will post a report..due back 10/28. Also looking forward to Brugge..staying at a b&b Number 11..which looks fantastic. Our local wine store set up a tour at Diebolt Champagne house in Cramant. It's a small place..there are many bigger tours easily avaliable. So ask your local wine store. Their distributor handled all the details.
