Electricity in Greece

Can anyone tell me if a hair dryer bought in France(220 volts, 50 cycles) will work in Greece. Outlets take continental type plugs with two round prongs. Is it the same in Greece. Thanks for any help you can give me.

It is the same, if it wasn't the concierge could always supply an adaptor for the purpose.

Yes it is the same. And I know it's hard for some people to imagine, but some travelers actually stay in places in Greece that don't have a concierge! Gasp!!!

Electricty currnet/voltage is the same throughout Europe. Plugs may differ, even within the same country. My suggestion is to buy a couple of different types of adaptors in case the Greek plugs are different from France. or you encounter different plug configurations within France or Greece.

There is a website called voltagevalet.com that in my experience is a fairly reliable source of information on the type of outlet configurations you are likely to find in virtually any country in the world. Another helpful site is http://www.escapeartist.com/global/W...wer_Guide.html

There's nothing quite as depressing as watching one aged diva trying to start a pissing contest with another.
