We are staying in Rome next month. Hotel has hair dryers but we would like to charge our video camera. The hotel has 220 volts current...what do we need to charge camera...and where do we get it? Thanks

You probably need a converter available in any decent travel store.

Most newer chargers are dual voltage (120-240 50-60 cycles) and automatically adjust for the voltage they are pluged into. . you should be able to look at the "brick" and see if it is.

If so, all you need is an adapter plug to get you from the US style to the European style recepticle. You can get these adaptors at most airports and some Radio Shacks.

As noted, your camera charger should be 110 - 220 volt.

If you can't find an adapter in the US, you will be pleasantly surprised to learn that you can buy them in Italy as well.

If your charger has a three prong plug (like ours does) be sure the adapter will accept it. We had been to Italy several times before we took the video camera and it hadn't occurred to us our adapter wouldn't accept a three prong plug. Luckily found one in Sorrento.
