My husband wats to know what did you men all do re: your electric razors? How big are the transformers you used and what is the configuration of the plugs for Budapest and Dubronik? thanks

I use a Gillette Sensor. It actually works without electricity.

I have a Braun but that has the charger built into the plug. It would work anywhere in the world. The plug would require a simple round two-prong plug adapter that works in most European countries, including Hungary and Croatia.

Having said that, I'm with Hopscotch - I don't travel with my electric razor. In my packing scheme, every ounce counts and I see an electric razor as unnecessary extra weight. But of course that's up to the individual traveler to decide.

If it is a dual voltage (110-220V), all he needs is an adapter with two cylindrical prongs.

As Ira said, if it is dual voltage, just a plug adaptor will do. Expect it to run slow due to the frequency difference. 50 vs 60 hertz.

If only 120V, then a voltage adaptor & plug adaptor are needed. That said, many hotels have a 120V outlet in the bathroom - but don't count on it.

Personally, my electric razor stays home. Disposable razors (good ones) and travel size Gillette shaving foam do the traveling trick for me. Lighter to carry and no hassels.

Thanks for all the info--I had mentioned to husband that it would be easier with disposable , but now that he has heard from seasoned MALE travelers he thinks that taking disposable razors would be a good idea.

Check out the tiny bottles of shaving oil in the shaving section at Walmart. Five drops in a damp hand, rubbed on your wet face works better than shaving cream. With the oil you don't have to worry about carrying a can of shaving cream.
