Eating in Tuscany

Going to Tuscany in June, any suggestions on great places to eat? We are looking for great food and atmosphere but not too fancy as we have a 4 year old with us. We are going to stay in Bucine so we could use any suggestions close to Bucine that we might use for the evening meal.

The following towns are on the list of where we might go. Any comments on the list are welcome:
Arrive and stop in Orvieto for lunch
Day 2 -Florence - just for a day walking tour
Day 3 - Chianti area
Day 4 - Arrezzo and Cortona
Day 5 - Volterra and San Gimignana
Day 6 - Siena and Monteriggioni
Day 7 - Montepulciano, Montalcino and possibly Pienzano
Thanks for the input.

In Rendola, a small hamlet of Montevarchi (Montevarchi is very close to Bucine) there is a very delicious D&B where to dine is a very big pleasure: D&B LA RAMUGINA.
The Dinner part is its restaurant OSTERIA DI RENDOLA www.osteriadirendola.it

have a lovely trip, ciao.

My favorite restaurant in all of Itally is I Sette Consoli in Orvieto. Dining under the outdoor tents is a real treat.

I Sette Consoli in Orvieto is an excellent restaurant but it is very upscale and expensive...not really a place for a 4 year old. You may find some suggestions for the Chianti area at this link http://littlurl.com/muc9e

Montepulciano--La Porta, Osteria Acquacheta, Ai Quattro Venti

These are just a few suggestions as there are many, many more

All time favorite restaurant and perfect for kids is Cantinetta Rignana. Here is a little write up:

Lunch at Rignana is particularly fun and can’t be missed; red tablecloths, spectacular view, flowers everywhere, a playground for the kids, eating alone or “la familia”. Stefano and his crew are wonderful and pride themselves on great food and great service.

It is an easy drive from Greve, Panzano or the S222 Tavernelle exit. Just google Rignana, find a good map or use their web site. http://www.lacantinettadirignana.it/...etta/index.php
Closed Tuesdays.

We have a group of 6 friends that will be in Bucine at Lupinari this Saturday. We were there for 3 weeks in 2005.

We enjoyed, among others......on last visit:
L'Antico Portale (outside Bucine)
Osteria del Borro in San Giustino Valdarna
Cane e Gatto in Siena
Having Gabriella come to our villa to prepare typical Tuscan meal

We are looking forward to these new highly recommend (+ the old ones)......restaurants:
La Bottega in Volpaia
Taverna Castello Banfi at Banfi winery

Have a wonderful vacation.
La Giostra in Florence
