Easy 1 day/night countryside trip from Venice by Train
We'll be staying in Venice for 4 nights and now we're thinking about a 1 day/night side trip to get a taste of the countryside. It would need to be a fairly close destination (under 2-3 hrs most) and easy to retun to the airport. It's out first trip to Italy so we thought we'd squeeze in a stay possibly a B&B, see a winerie or olive farm? anyone have any recommendations? or memorable experiences to share? I'd greatly appreciate it. All the advice we've gotten here in the past has always been a great help.

Hi, baemel. Only you know your interests, but we had 4-1/2 days on our first trip to Venice as a couple and didn't have time to see all the sights we wanted to in the main part of the city let alone any day trips.
We didn't even have time to get to Murano or Burano, or the Accademia and Guggenheim museums!

Hi Baemel - Will you have a car? If yes, you could be in the Dolomites in a couple of hours.
An alternative might be the Asolo area for some pleasant hill scenery.
Or you could head beyond Bassano to the Alpine foothills of the Val Sugana area.
Hope this helps ...

Hi B,
Having spent over 4 weeks in Venice over many visits, I don't think that you will become bored in only 4 days.
However, you might want to stay in Venice and take a daytrip to Padua, Ravenna, Bologna or Verona.
