Easter bells

The Bells have just come here.
They take off from Rome and drop eggs (chocolate eggs here) with great precision : only on the grass...
Amid the eggs we also find some (chocolate again) rabbits and chicken.

Who else do the Bells visit ?

In the US all of these are delivered by the Easter Bunny. Little kids traditionally get baskets lines with shredded green paper including all sort of chocolate and marshmallow eggs, bunnies, chicks, in multi colors, etc.

Peeps - small marshmallow chicks or bunnies covered with pastel sugar crystal are esp popular.

Just to add a bit to nyt's comment, we also have an Easter egg hunt.

But this year only one little girl.

Happy Easter to all!!

While chocolate seems to have displaced Jesus for many in the West. I note that a poor man in Scotland appears to have been stabbed for wishing his customers Happy Easter.

How apt that at a time where persecution is so much part of the religious season that such a thing should happen.

Bells, with a capital B? Never heard of them. But yesterday in the Antwerpen Central Station there were men dressed in bunny uniforms handing out candy. This morning in Antwerp we were awoken at an ungodly hour by church bells that never stopped - for several hours. And this afternoon at Antwerpen Central the ticket seller gave me a bag of chocolate easter candy - two bunnies, one milk chocolate and one white.

That's a real shame, bilbo.
