DUOMO in Florence
I recently made reservations for the Uffizi and Accademia. Is it possible to buy tickets ahead of time or to make reservations prior to going to the Duomo? I have been trying to seek the info out on websites and haven't been fortunate enough to find the answer. I always find my answers here.....so I thought I would ask!
I did learn that it's a good bargain (according to Rick Steves) to take the Terraces of the Catherdral and Dome tour....any suggestions re: this?
Thanks in advance for any info you might provide. Also tips on nearby restaurants would be appreciated.

We were in Florence last week and climbed to the top of the dome. There was hardly any queue for it at all on Wednesday morning at about 09.30 (one minute wait). However there was a huge queue on the previous Saturday afternoon. I believe it opens at 08.00 daily.
I'm not aware of any way of pre-booking to access the dome.
There is no charge to enter the Duomo proper, although this does not include the dome or the crypt (or baptistery or campanile).
By the way, don't climb the dome if you suffer from vertigo, or are very unfit.

Thanks to everyone.....We are not going for a few more weeks and I'm guessing the crowds will continue to grow. We do plan on climbing the stairs. (hoping to exercise so the waist doesn't grow too big from the wonderful food). Although there is no charge for the Duomo itself does anyone know if I can but tickets ahead for any of the things that cost $...? Thanks again. Please excuse my lack of knowledge.
