Top Three 'Must do's' in Florence?
Right its sunny here in the UK at last! the weekend has just begun and now Im dreaming of my forthcoming holiday to Florence and Tuscany. What would be your top three things in Florence, not to be missed, off the top of your head? Lets all dream together
Im off for a glass of Prosecco and to put my feet up in the garden. Look forward to your responses!

Last Autumn I spent just a day in Florence. The 3 big sights we chose, from all those on offer were
1... David at the Accademia
2... the Medici Chapel
3... the Baptistery
And we really liked the markets, the shopping, our lunch and dinner, and just walking and exploring fair Florence!
Have a great trip!

5. Ira's suggestion: Just before sunset, go to the bus station and take the city bus up to Fiesole (1E). Get off the bus in front of the Bar Blu, get a table on the terrace, order a bottle of prosecco and drink it while the sun sets and the lights come on in Florence. My oh my.

oops - sitting on this bridge with a little vino and oogling the Pone Vecchio in its medieval majesty and Florence.
2- Sitting on the Piazza(le?) Michelangelo, with some wine, and taking in the sea of burnt-sienna tiled roofs covering Florence, with the Duomo, etc. sticking out.
3- Trundling thru the old wrought iron food and veg market hall - an old-fashioned huge farmers market

I have a recent trip report thread "Amazing Two Week Family Trip To Italy" in which I describe our day trip to Florence. Even though we could only be in Florence for one day .... it was a magnificent day! Our best asset was that we scheduled the three hour walking tour and the art historian David tour with www.artviva.com. Also, we enjoyed a Florentine steak at Marios - fantastico!

The outside of the Duomo is beautiful but don't miss the inside of the Baptistry across the street -- it's magnificent! Take little binoculars or opera glasses wherever you go in Italy; a lot of the art is high up.
