My husband & I will be in Dublin this summer for 2 nights, then a week in Killarney - probably skipping over to England for 4 nights - flying back to the States from Dublin.

Which pass is better, the Dublin Pass or the Heritage Pass? We are definitely visting Dublin Castle, Trinity Church, Guinness Brewery, Dublin Writer's Pub Crawl and of course, the Book of Kells at Trinity College.

There are a number of different discount passes in Ireland. Heritage Ireland http://www.heritageireland.ie/en/ covers a lot of irish heritage sites and once you buy it, admission is free. I think they are up to about E22 each. Only Dublin Castle is in your Dublin list. Depends on what you are doing around Killarney

http://www.cultureheritageireland.com/index.php# Is a free pass and gets you some 2fers and then some small discounts.

The Dublin Pass http://www.dublinpass.ie/dublinpass/default.asp?refID= would be E29 for two days E17 for 1 and gives you free admission to a bunch of places plus a free ride to the city center.

In the end, you need to figure out what sites you'll be seeing and what the cost/benefit is to each one. Clearly, the free on is free, so no reason not to download it.
