Dublin for only one evening; Music Pub suggestions?
We'll be staying at the Fitzwilliam Guest House on Upper Fitzwilliam Street, only passing through for one evening in September. With our 14 and 16 yo daughters, is it possible to go to a pub to hear Celtic music, have supper? In small County Mayo ancestral home town some years ago, the pub had children playing music and hanging out well into the evening, but I'm guessing things aren't so loose in the big city. Are they tossed out at a certain time?
Any suggestions for somewhere low key, non-posh near where we're staying?

There are a few pubs on Merrion Row that may to live music. Foley's is nice - http://www.foleysbar.com/. They have a restaurant that I believe is pretty good, and they have live music. Otherwise, I think Temple Bar would be the best option, unless it's a weekend night when it might be a bit too crazy for your daughters.

Hi Stokebailey
I think for trad music your best bet is, Oliver St. John pub in Temple Bar> I have taken visiting friends there many times and they all enjoyed it, you can also have casual food there, its not gourmet but nice food, ie fish, beef, etc. There are lots of other restaurants around St Stephens Green, and Temple Bar area. Have fun
