We have booked an apartment for our 3 days in Dublin this coming summer. We were planning on staying 4 days in an apartment complex recommended by SiobhanP, but we had to cut our stay short and the recommended apartments did not allow 3 day stays.

They offer a couple of holiday apartments that appear to be well located.

Has anyone had any experience or know anything about this agency and their apartments?

If these apartments are beside that pub in Temple Bar you may have difficulty in getting some sleep.

Nope, they are on Anglesea Street, which is around the corner from the pub. I was worried about noise at first, but these apartments are on the fifth floor, with an elevator.

I'm a Dubliner, I've lived in Ireland all my life,and whilst I think Gogartys is great for Irish music and Craic, I wouldnt dream of staying anywhere near there, the noise is dreadful at night.

I've only ever been in the pub part of Gogarty's with friends that were visiting from abroad and its been lovely,but I personally wouldnt stay anywhere in Temple Bar, not even of the 5th floor, its just too noisy and mad for me.

If you have not finalized your reservation, I can recommend the Molesworth Court Suites in Dublin. We had a lovely 2 bedroom apartment with a neat terrace when we visited Dublin last spring. You can find some reviews of it on tripadvisor.

It will be massively noisy especially if its the weekend. Do you sleeep heavy? If not you will hear the revellers in the streets after the pubs close (2am I think now for Gogherty) Not worth it for the lack of sleep.

Yes, I already booked this apartment and the deposit is non refundable so I guess we will we will grin and bear it even at 2:00 am.

I should have posted this before I booked, but the price was right and I did not think the noise would be that bad on the fifth floor. I will let you know how it goes.

We will be staying on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday so hopefully the noise wont be too bad on 2 out of the 3 days.

Well look at it this way its a very central location in the city so Dublin is at your doorstep. Grab a snack Sat at the Temple bar food Market. Its nice early.

Laurie, the best way to avoid the social scene in Temple Bar being a problem is to become part of it. Stay out late, have a party, get sloshed, and crawl into bed at 3 a.m. You'll sleep then.

Hi, I just thought I would let everyone know that our stay at Gogarty's was not noisy at all.

We arrived around 11:30pm on a Friday night and we were given our keys and sent up a very tiny elevator to our apartment, which was a very spacious 2 bedroom.

When we walked in and looked around, we realized that all the bed linens had not been changed, the garbage had not been taken out and the rooms had not been cleaned.

Down I went to tell the check in clerk, who said that he was sorry but he could not leave his area, but he would give us clean sheets and we could change the bedding ourselves.

We changed the bedding and bagged up the garbage.

The next day I asked to speak to the manager about our trouble and she was extremely nice about the situation.

She offered to give us 2 out of the 3 nights that we were staying for free. Worked for me!

So, I guess this is a mixed review of the St John Gogarty's Suites. The 1st night was troublesome but it sure made our stay in Dublin less expensive!

We had a great in time in Dublin!

how far is it from everything?

what were the apartments you were looking at? i'm leaving for dublin soon and we have yet to book our travel!! we're trying to find someplace for 4 ppl (we're all in our early 20s) for 4 days.

mai, it is about as central as you can get: 200 metres from O'Connell Bridge, which many consider the central point in Dublin; 100m from Trinity College; 300m. from the National Museum; 500m. from Christchurch Cathedral -- I could go on listing things you might like that are in strolling distance.

The risk that others pointed out about noise and disturbance in the area is real, but if you are young and lively, and inclined to stay out late yourselves, that might not be a problem for you.
