If you were just going to Reims and Rouen, then I agree a car would not be warranted, or even a good idea. However, especially for the trip to Honfleur, it makes sense if you don't mind the cost, as you can't even get there by train. I think you have too much to do that day, actually -- you plan to visit Rouen, the coast and Honfleur all in one day? You must not want to see much in each.

Yes, it was Les Cars Rey in Le Bugue, several hundred miles from anywhere you want to be.

It was fine to drive in and out of the St. Sulpice location (granted I was the navigator). We printed maps ahead of time, looked them over, and then off we went.

We've driven in London, Rome, NYC, Lisbon etc. and it's always the same: eyes in front and keep going.
