Driving from Germany to Greece
Hi we decided to spend the winter in Greece and now we would like to drive our car from Berlin to Thessaloniki next month. Not sure though how safe it is referring to the weather-street conditions. Any suggestions/advice/ informative sites?

Make sure you leave yourselves sufficient time (and money) to stop somewhere if the road conditions are not good and pay careful attention to the weather reports. Do you have experience driving on roads in winter weather? If not, be particularly careful -- or see if you can obtain lessons.
Good luck!

Best route would be via Austria-Italy to Ancona and then ferry to Patras.
In Austria and Italy this is THE main highway connecting North and South Europe, and it is absolutely safe.
Depending on where in Greece you want to go your options are
1. disembarking in Igounimenitsa in case you want to drive to Northern Greece/Thessaloniki or Central Greece
2. disembarking in Patras from where you can reach the Peloponnese and Athens ( and then ferry to the Aegean islands)
Also in Greece weather won't cause any problems to the streets, with very few exceptions.....
