Where in Greece
My 16 yo daughter and I are thinking of flying from Milan to Greece or taking a cruise from Venice to Greece. Is Greece safe for 2 women? Also, she's into swimming, photography, so Ruins aren't priority for this trip as last year we had tons of sightseeing.

My husband and I loved Santorini, the water is beautiful and calm and it has plenty of beautiful sites to photograph. You could also take a boat tour, we did a private one so it was pretty pricey but they do group ones and you get to swim in the open water and around the volcanoes. I wasn't traveling with another woman but we found it very welcoming and the locals are all friendly and helpful. It's a small island and very easy to just chill out on. The pace is very laid back. Of course, the time of year is relevant. We were there at the tail end of the season, mid-October, so it was relatively empty and we stayed at Voreina Gallery Suites in Pyrgos, which is a more remote village on the mountain top. Still had the caldera view though, just not on the cliffside.

If she is into swimming and photography, it seems cruise is a mismatch. Is she is interested taking pictures for better depth when the sun is at lower point in the sky, she would need to be taking pictures before the cruise boats arrive and after they have left. Unless you are looking at cruises that do overnighters at islands, I noticed some of them do that at Santorini, you will be on the islands only during the time of high sun. Also many of the blue water beaches you see in the Greece travel promotion pictures are not on the islands with cruise ports.

We are looking at flying, not cruises as we would be coming from Naples. Not sure if we will go to Greece or just turn back to Rome and Spain.
