Driving from CDG to Versailles

I will need to rent a car for almost three weeks in my upcoming trip to France. If I rent the car, I can pick it up in Versailles.
If I do the auto buyback plan, I have to pick up the car at the airport in Paris. My worry is how difficult the drive will be from the airport to Versailles compared to just renting in Versailles.

It's an easy drive, but you will graze the Paris ring road to get there. Not a big deal.

If you are going to be driving in France, you absolutely must not start obsessing about places that are reputedly difficult to drive.

Public rumor is often misleading -- for example, I can think of a number of places more difficult to drive than inside Paris, and yet everybody acts as though Paris is the absolute summit of difficulty in France.

Agree with kerouac. Also, if you're arriving from the USA on a weekday, chances are you'll end up in rush-hour traffic and won't have to go more than 10 miles an hour on most stretches.

I picked up a rental car at CDG. Went to Burgundy, not Versailles, but I didn't find the area around the airport or to the south to be a difficult drive. I probably wouldn't want to drive it during rush hour, but I don't like driving in rush hour anywhere.

I plan to bring a GPS with me. I think that will really help for the whole trip.
