Driver: Ravenna -> Bologna?

Hello,

I've planned a once in a lifetime trip for 4 sisters and me for June 2008 in Italy. One snag I've hit is, we are overnighting on a Saturday in Ravenna and need to get to Rome the next day, Sunday. We are traveling by train. There is only one train to Rome on Sunday and it doesn't get in till after 9 p.m.

However, there are several trains from Bologna to Rome that day, so I am hoping to find a taxi/driver to take 5 women and 5 carry-on sized bags from Ravenna to Bologna on a Sunday, probably 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Any ideas or suggestions or experience with drivers or taxi companies?

Many thanks!

You should have more than one train option. Either the schedules are messed up for that day or haven't been loaded yet. Try another Sunday and see what results you get.

There should be heaps of train connections with one change in Bologna or somewhere else. I guess you've only been looking for direct trains?

Hi A,

www.bahn.de shows the 10:06 from Ravenna arriving Rome TE at 16:03 via Rimini (1 hr layover) and Bologna (0:20 hr layover).

PS,

There might be a glitch in the system.

For June 8
www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html
lists trains at 07:49, 09:35, 11:35, 12:35 and 13:35, but doesn't want to show them for any Sunday after that.

The Trenitalia site only shows full schedule for up to 60 days in advance. Therefore, if you were trying a date after July 5, you saw only a partial schedule. To find full schedules, plug in a fake date that is a Sunday, for example " 11 5 2008 " (May 11, 2008).

Thanks All! I had plugged in 29 June, our travel date, thinking that was within the time. I'll re-run the request with the above advice. Thanks again!
