Driver in Tuscany

Last year when starting to plan our trip, I read about a driver that several people had used in the Tuscany region (Sienna, Montellico?). Can anyone recommend a great driver

Steve - thanks for the quick response. No, it was an "individual". No website, no company - just him. (?)

JFYI - Hills and Roads is also just one individual. His name is Lucca. He drove us from Livorno to Pisa, on to Florence, and back to Livorno. He is studying for his tour guide license, so is very knowledgeable. He is also a very nice guy. If you want a Mercedes and driver in suit and tie--he may not be the right guy. But we liked him very much.

I second the recommedation for Luca with hillsandroads.com. We used him for 1.5 days this past March and were extremely pleased. Very reasonable rates, speaks various languages with excellent English, very knowledgeable, and a terrific person.

Miska,

You can reach Alex at: [email protected]. He sounded like a very nice guy, but when he was unavailable for our dates, we did book Luca Garapa at Hillsandroads.com. We went out with Luca for several day trips last August in and around Chianti and Florence, and had a wonderful time with him. I should also mention that he was the most reasonable of all the drivers I contacted about day trips.

Mishka,

I didn't mean to anglicize Alessandro's name! Anyway, it's Alessandro Cammilli at [email protected]

Good luck, and have a great time!

Both Luca and Alex are very good choices and very reasonable. However, Alex is stationed in Montalcino and may have to drive a distance to your base. A recent client used Alex and was very happy.

I can recommend Giovanni Sirabella - he has air-conditioned minivans of different sizes, depending on whether you're a group or not. He has some recent tours that he's done described on his web site www.sunflower-tours.com.

Another vote for Luca Garapa. We used him 3 weeks ago for 2 day trips in Tuscany and loved him and the trips. He is an excellent and safe driver, knows the area very well, is a nice person and fun to spend the day with. Highly recommended.
