Will add to my list or next trip. Thanks.
Last trip to Dresden in early Dec I didn't get much beyond the QF/Hilton/Christmas market area.
Walking through the QF shopping center to the parking garage every morning was a big tease - bakery ovens were cooking croissants and that's all you could smell, but the did not open till after I was there.
The takeout sushi on the lower level is fast and just fine.

I ate one night at Ogura in the Hilton and was really disappointed with the entire experience - food, service, price. It's off my list.
I had some good Asian meals at Ricky's Quan Sushi Bar

Better than expected, very casual and cheap. I used to sit facing the aquarium so I could watch their amazing pleco bustling about.

FoFoBT, I love your restaurant favourites
Villandry is one of my absolute favourites - been there for dinner with a friend from Basel and we both loved the food there (and also sitting on a summer evening in their garden in the back). Agree that the prices are still moderate compared to Swiss restaurants.
Had delicious 4-course dinner one New Year's Eve at Kurfürstenschenke with the family. I was surprised how busy the place was this December, wanted to have dinner there with an American friend but no chance without reservation.
Coselpalais - yep, only for fancy cake and coffee/tea, but for that it is fabulous.
Looking forward to the trip report!
