Drat!! TC has cancelled on me

Had planned a 10 day trip in February to Venice and Florence. Now, going single, I'm thinking of either London or Amsterdam for 6 days instead and doing Northern Italy another time. Any advice on which city might be more welcoming to a single person, places to stay as a single, etc? Thanks all

Hi cm,

Mind telling us why you want to switch?

Venice and Florence are certainly not unwelcoming to single persons.

I've traveled to both London and AMsterdam as a single person, and don't think it makes a big difference between the two in that regard. Personally, I would much rather spend 6 days in February in London.

London, Amsterdam, OR Florence and Venice would all be just fine to travel solo. Go where ever you dream of visiting . . . .

The switch is due to a possible trip with my husband in August now to Italy. He wanted to go initially but couldn't get away in February. I was so pumped to get away then that I just don't want to stay home now!

Hmmmm.

Hubby can't go to Italy in Feb, but might be able to go in August.

I would choose Amsterdam.

Is there a reason for not going to Paris or Rome?

If you choose Amsterdam, check out Hotel Fita (www.fita.nl) I've stayed there a few times by myself. Great location.

I agree with ira. I've done this trip with a Thalys ride to Paris and for a six-day solo adventure, it keeps things moving. It's a great trip.

All of these cities would be "welcoming" (since you are allowing us to define the term)...I think, personally, I'd travel to the one which contained the things I wanted to see the most. Most hotels will be happy to book you into a single room, etc. so not sure what your concerns really are.
