Doing Laundry in Spain

Will be on a 3 week trip and will need to laundry in Spain. We were thinking of doing it in Malaga as it is twoard the last week of our trip and we will really need to do it then. However, we could also do it in Cadiz. Anyone offer help in finding a place. When we are in Malaga it is a bank holiday and I understand that everything is closed - does that mean laundry places as well. No dry cleaning just laundry.

I don't know about those cities but while in Sevilla for 3 weeks a friend had bad experience. We took our clothes to a laundry service (not self operated) and my pile was all okay to wash together but my friend assumed they separate the whites. Well since she didn't say it, they didn't do it. When we came back to pick up our things all her whites were blue. After a bit of a breakdown and advice from another laundry we went back to complain and they did bleach them back to white but charged her for it. So word to the wise separate your clothes into the appropriate loads before you drop it off!
Have a great trip!

My experience is Mexico not Spain but when using drop off services (which I have done many times) do not count on anything to be handled "delicate". And I never include anything that could fade onto other clothes or can not be thoroughly machine washed & dried (nothing that will shrink or colors that will run).

I have not done laundry in Cadiz or Malaga but I have done that in Seville. You might find info on laundry in Lonely Planet book since it is more towards budget travel.

I had a great experience in Seville in a laundry place in one of the small streets off of Alfalfa square. I made sure she knows the white pieces and other pieces should be washed separately. I had brought some detergent I use at home with me although not necessary. She even removed the stains on my new white shirt and pants although I had not even asked her to do so. The charge was pretty low for ironing and she did such a great job. However, it sometimes depends on who is operating the laundry room that day.
