Doge's Palace Official Website - What Happened?
#23
hello again,
I've managed to find a link to the venicecard, should anyone want it, via the ACTV website and hellovenezia.
http://www.hellovenezia.com/jsp/en/v...tori/index.jsp
but I had to be persistent and know what I was looking for. I don't give much for the chances of casual browsers finding it, except by chance.
regards, ann

I just ordered and received back the 7 day pass for the water taxi, the museums, and the "conveniences"--(public toilet pass) from Venice Connected. This is for my husband and myself, since we will be in Venice for the first time from April 20th to the 25th..the order process was simple, and we have vouchers to turn in when we arrive, and we'll then get the individual passes...Couldn't have been simpler..
I've been reading this sight for awhile, and am gathering my questions for everyone....thanks! We'll be arriving in Milan for one day and one night of sightseeing..on Sat. the 18th of April..on Sunday we train to Verona for the day and night..then on to Venice for the week...we leave Venice on Sat the 25th for Florence.
After 2 days and nights in Florence, we will go to the Cinque Terre for another 2 days and nights..We then train to Pisa on Weds, April 29th, for a quick tour of the Tower, and then take off for Charleroi, Belgium on Ryanair..
We then have 12 days there to visit our son, daughter-in-law, and 2 young grandchildren. While visiting, we will do a 3-day trip to Omaha Beach, Honfleur, Bayeaux, and Mont-St.Michel..
As I stated before, I'm gathering many questions for you fodorites to help us out, but the info I've already gathered on this sight has been invaluable..
I've just purchased a mini-laptop which seldom leaves my lap, so I hope to do a "live" trip report as we go..talk to you guys soon..Pam

hi Pam
the trip sounds great. a week in Venice is definitely NOT too mcuh time - I know you didn't say it is, but so many have.
if you click on my name, you'll find my trip report of the week we spent there last easter [is it really that long ago, sigh]. you might find a few ideas there that interest you. Also Peter's thread [a few above this one] about his 8? weeks in Venice earlier this year is very well worth reading.
