Doge's Palace Official Website - What Happened?

Anyone have a clue on what happened to the official website?
http://www.museiciviciveneziani.it/f...;tit=biglietti

I visited to see if they had tickets yet for the Secret Tour for May and the website seems completely gone and replaced by a commerical IT website

Did they let their registration lapse or what? Anyone know where to go now to book a tour?

Thanks!

The official Web site is back:
http://www.museiciviciveneziani.it/main.asp?lin=EN

I know there are no wires in cyberspace, but I still suspect some wires got crossed...

Zerlina - the link you gave goes to a site called Interlogica. I tried it twice, once using the hyperlink and once copying and pasting into the browser address line. Doesn't work either time. The address shows the link you gave but the web site is definitely not for the Doges Palace.

Hmmm. Zerlina, the you posted still gets me to Interlogica as does the link I posted.

Are other people clicking on the exact same link and getting to the correct website? If so, how is that possible?

I just tried both links again and I can get to the Doges Palace site. It's so weird. As I said before, the address bar in my browser showed the correct link but the site was Interlogica. But the last 2 times I tried the links they did work.

Clear out your temporary internet files and then open a new browser session and try the links again.

I forgot that my virus software ran a cleanup this morning between the 2 times I tried to connect to the Doges Palace. The cleanup probably removed the Interlogica cookies and that's why I could access the DP site. Follow the advice above in my previous post.

Adrienne, that is logical advice but unfortunately it doesnt work. I hit the same Interlogica site using different browsers, different computers and even different networks (home and office). I have no other ideas...

I looked at the site (your link) and it appears that only the calendar for March is the only one available for the Secret Itinerary Tour. If you want to call them here's the number:

TELEPHONE BOOKINGS
- call centre 041 5209070, from 9am-6pm (Mon-Fri) and 9am-2pm (Sat). This service is available in English, French, German and Spanish.
( Payment with credit card: bookings accepted up to 24 hours before the visit. Payment with bank order: bookings accepted up to 15 days before the visit ).

The city of Venice has a new website where you can book everything in one location (transport, museum passes, bathroom pass). They are now charging by season - low, med, high (color-coded on the maps) - so you click the date you need and you will get a selection of passes (click the various tab choices). The St. Marks' Museum pass includes the Doges Palace. They guarantee the online advance ticket prices to be cheaper than walk-up prices.

hi kybourbon,

just as a matter of interest, I had a look at the site you mention. although you can get th pass to the museums of san marco which includes the doge's palace, I couldn't see how to book the secret itineraries tour, which has always been extra anyway.

any ideas?

regards, ann

I was so angry at this interference that I sent a very nasty message to Interlogica.

I mean really vile.

Profane. Pornographic in its phrasing.

Someone wrote back, saying "Dear sir, please explain your problem."

Let's see whether it gets fixed....

If you are staying in Venezia, ask the hotel where you are staying to make a booking for you. I would say most every hotel will do so...ours did last NOV..most covenient and most agreeable...they are all too happy to do so for you.

Good Evening,

i'm the owner of Interlogica, my company developed and is hosting the museiciviciveneiani.com website since many years. I had notice about this problem and simply want to ensure you that we are immediately taking charge of it.

Are you still not able to reach the museiciviciveneziani.com website ?

Regards

hi cyberfox,

we can NOW.

but what is the point of a website like the new Venice connections one that says it gives comprehensive access to tickets for Venice, when it doesn't? you cannot buy tickets for the secret tour from that site, nor can you connect to the museiicivici site to do so.

aaggg.

annhig,

The problems with veniceconnected.com have nothing to do with Interlogica.

veniceconnected.com is, I suspect, still having teething problems. It was introduced in a mad rush to try to cope with Carnevale.

Venice Card is and always was independent of the City of Venice. It's offered by ACTV, the Venice transport system.

Veniceconnected.com is the city's attempt to deal with mass
tourism. The few hundred people who take the Secret Itineraries tour are not even a tiny drop in that huge bucket. I doubt that there will ever be a link from veniceconnected.com.

I agree, though, that veniceconnected.com should not say that it is the answer to *all* ticket questions in Venice.
