Does the Laender Pass in Bavaria cover the ALX trains?
I have read over the Deutsche Bahn website and can't figure out if the Laender Pass in Bavaria (Bayern-Ticket) is good on ALX trains? Can anyone help? Maybe someone from Bavaria? Thanks in advance!

Yes, it does. ALX trains (actually all private train lines) are considered local trains and accept the Bavaria Ticket.

I hope this clip will answer your question. (My numbers.) Number 2 is critical. Here is how I read it:

Darn. I was trying to translate that rascal and something caused it to be sent too early.
Let's go back to #2 and finish it off.
The Deutsche Bahn Regional and ALEX have developed a rate and marketing association in common so that traveling guests are free to select the train they wish to use from either organization .
There are a few exceptions as described in #3. Tickets on Munich local trains are only good as far as Pasing because the Alex trains, with 2 exceptions - one early and one late - do not stop at Geltendorf.
The idea here is that Geltendorf is the end of the S Bahn lines. The Alex trains that pass through Geltendorf without stopping go all the way to Kempten. The next stop after Geltendorf is beyond the limits of validity for MVV tickets, which are used on the Munich S Bahn.
For example, S8 goes from the Munich airport to Geltendorf. The Alex trains that do not stop at Geltendorf make their next stop at a station beyond Geltendorf. So the S8 ticket is not valid for that section of the line.
Complicated, but unless you for some mysterious reason want to ride an Alex train to Geltendorf, your ticket will be good. Or if you take the train at 21:41 you can get off at Geltendorf.
Otherwise, take the S bahn or a RE train.
Now if you have a Bayern ticket, I don't know why that exception would apply. That will take someone who knows more than I do about this particular vagary. It is worse than trying to read IRS instructions!!
If I have a Bayern ticket and can ride an RE train from Munich HBF to Kempten, why cannot I ride an Alex train to Kempten with the same ticket.
I guess I cannot do it before 9 am!!
Or after 3 am on a work day!! Otherwise I can.

Tagesrandlage does not even appear in the unabridged German - English dictionary published by Harper Collins.
I tried Leo and TU Chemnitz to no avail.
Randlage was defined by TU as "regions"; by Leo as "outskirts".
I construed that to mean early and late in the day.
I think the model predicts accurately because there are Alex trains leaving Munich at 21:41 and at 4:47 that stop at Geltendorf. The Alex train at 15:27 does NOT stop at Geltendorf.
So with limited testing, the model works. If anybody wants to test it further, be my guest. My free time just expired.
Have fun with Alex; sounds like a nice guy even if the DB website says that the DB equipment is modern, thus implying that Alex runs old stuff.
Not sure Alex would like that. But he or she as the case may be can fight that out with the DB authorities. I have no legal status in the matter nor do I have any plans of going to Geltendorf!!
I might go through it on my way elsewhere, but I have no interests in what lies there in that suburb.

The word was invented the person that wrote the text, but the meaning can be deducted
. Alex trains look pretty nice and colourful on the outside. Having been to Geltendorf ("celtic village"
a number of times, it's a tiny village, right next to Kaltenberg, known for the knights and the beer. So you might actually consider going there.

Alex DOES run older stuff - refurbished Italian intercity cars with 6-seat compartments, towed by diesel loco. DB`s RE use modern (built in 2002-2003) tilting units. On the other hand, Alex trains have a bistro.
In any case the Italian carriages are supposed to be interim solution until SBB (the mother company of Alex) buys the dear little son something more modern

I just made plans to go to Geltendorf.
My friends who live in Munich, west Schwabing area, tell me that there are several neat places in the suburbs of Munich. Bad Tolz is another.
We went to a horse and carriage show close to the Tegernsee last year. So I need to find something for an encore.\
Beautiful horses. Unfortuntely, it started pouring rain. Not just a shower, but a deluge.
Meaning deducted? Right on.
The drawing of a conclusion by reasoning; the act of deducing.
I may even want to check out one of those Alex trains. Sounds like what I rode in back in the fifties when I was considerably younger than I am now!!

Geltendorf is a place with a few farms, cows, and a "Wirtshaus". Great for a bike tour or visiting Kaltenberg. Tölz is much! bigger. However, today those places are getting rare. "Progress" is everywhere.

Well, thanks, I guess! I am still a little puzzled by all this. I want to use a Bayern Ticket to go from Munich airport into Munich, change trains in either the main station or Pasing and go to Lindau. The train with the best time for us is an ALX train. Can I take it with my Bayern Ticket? That is the complete question.

Well, I just looked back and see that the first answer basically says, yes, I can do this. I got so wrapped up in everything everyone else wrote I forgot the first answer. So I guess I am OK now. Thanks for all the interesting points! WOW -- you never know what you might start on this website!
