Does anyone have any experience renting a Paris vacation apartment from Lodgis

Had anyone rented a vacation apartment from Lodgis in Paris? I feel like I'm getting some signals that they may not be a good company. I asked for information about an apartment in Paris, and the sent me the info in French knowing that I speak English. Also, I did read a negative thread on the net. Does anyone else have a negative or positive experience with them?

Yes, I rented through them several years ago, everything went fine and I thought they were a superior company in terms of their professionalism and contracts and responsiveness. I am sure you can find a "negative thread on the net" about virtually every company in the world. They are an agency that handles the reservation and contracts but you are renting from a private owner, actually. But they manage it and do a lot for their agency fee, they are not remotely like websitges that just have ads like VRBO. I speak and read French so don't recall if they responded in French or English to my inquiry, I wouldn't have noticed. If you don't know French at all, given this is a French agency with French apt owners (mostly, I would presume), you might want more handholding than you get from lodges.com. Don't know, but they are very professional and registered with the city. You can find info by searching on that name in Fodors, I'm sur eyou can find some threads, including what I wrote in more detail.

Hi Christina,
Thank you so much for your response. What area in Paris did you stay? I think that I most prefer the St. Germain area. Many of the apartment websites include previous renter's comments about what a great time they had, which makes one feel better about each particular apartment, but Lodgis doesn't for the most part. I am traveling in early May, and a lot of the apartments are booked. Your response makes me feel better overall about the company. Thanks again!

I just returned from a trip to Paris. We rented an apartment from Paris Perfect and are very pleased with them. They have a good web site with pictures and descriptions of all their apartments and are easy to work with. They have an English-speaking person who meets you at your apartment and tells you all about it. They even recommended a taxi company that knew where their apartments are and took us to ours from the airport. The apartment contained lots of information about the area and restaurants, etc.

I have rented an apartment with them about 1.5 years back and it was really all good with that apartment as it was having almost all facilities needed by us the most. Moreover I found the best part that they also accept credit cards and not just insist on cash as faced by me when I tried for some other rental agencies prior to Lodjee.com.
So I can say that my personal experience was really good so I would definitely recommend them.

As far as you said they answered to you in French then I remember that it was not happened in our case. Although you can contact them again requesting for information in English for further communications. I think they would surely try to help.

It is surprising to see that they sent you information in French as I have already been in contact with some of their English-speaking agents. I believe Christina probably meant lodgis.com ? fyi Lodjee isn't the same company as Lodgis.

Didn't have any issue with them and thought they were professional. You should probably find other reviews about them on Fodor's or on other sites like Lonely Planet.
