I am comparing three hotels in London for our family this winter and looking to book a family &quot;quad&quot;. If you have any feedback on the hotels, service (friendliness of staff) or the neighborhood, I would appreciate it.<BR>Kensington Moat House (family quad)<BR>Mornington Hotel -Lancaster Gate (quad - but I can't seem to get any info from them to describe the room -<BR>2 double beds? four single?)<BR>Holiday Inn - Kensington<BR>Thanks!

Well i havent stayed at any of the ones you mentioned, but I did spend a few days at the Citidines Trafalgar Square hotel back in the beginning of October.<BR><BR>FANTASTIC HOTEL!!!<BR><BR>Im not kidding when i tell you its about 100-200 feet from trafalgar square, and 200-300 feet from the Thames River in the other. The rooms were very big and had a seperate kitchen, tv, stereo. This is the 2nd citidines i've stayed in and they were both fantastic. (The other being Citidines Tour Eiffel in paris).<BR><BR>Georgous Hotel, Great Price ($150 a night), AMAZING Location.<BR><BR>Next time i go back to London (hopefully soon), I will definately be staying there again.

Where did you book it? I looked it up and it looked like a one month minimum (we only need 4 nights) and the prices were higher. It does sound like you get a lot for a longer stay.

Carol,<BR>The Holiday Inn that you mentioned I will assume is the Holiday Inn South Kensington, that used to be the Forum. We stayed there several years back. The hotel was nice, clean, friendly staff and conveniently located. On the downside it was used by many business people &amp; airline pilots &amp; attendants so it was busy and crowded. On our return trips we've stayed at smaller hotels that really don't cater to the business traveler.

Carol-<BR>I stayed at the Kensington Moat House 2 years ago. The room was large and very comfortable. We had a huge window in our room overlooking the street, and it was surprisingly quiet. The English breakfast was very good and the hotel was close to the tube. I would strongly suggest this hotel- no worries!!

The Holiday Inn Kensington is a different hotel from Holiday Inn-Forum in Kensington.Both are on the same street and within a block of each other just to make things confusing.<BR>I stayed at the former, which is a smaller hotel than the latter, this summer for 99 pounds-English breakfast included.The room had 2 double beds and was clean.The only problem was the ventilation/airconditioning system.I was on a non-smoking floor but could smell tobacco smoke from the vents.I suspect people in neighboring rooms were smoking.The staff was friendly and helpful but it was a busy hotel so don't expect to get a room before check-in time.The hotel is very near the Gloucester tube station and there is a supermarket across the street as well as some restaurants.The Natural History Museum, Science Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum are within walking distance of the hotel.<BR>You can try www.discountcityhotels.com or www.hoteldiscounts.com for the citadine apartments for short stays.
